Get uKeep

Scan a business card. It's a Lead in Salesforce.

The people you meet in person rarely make it into Salesforce. uKeep fixes that: scan their business card, add a note on where you met, and one tap makes it a Lead, with the context. No typing it in after the event, no lost cards.

Scanned
New Lead

How it works

Set up once. Then it's one tap per card.

  1. 1

    Your admin installs uKeep

Once, for the whole org, from the install link. It takes a couple of minutes and there's nothing to configure.

  2. 2

    You connect your account

In uKeep, tap Connect, log in on Salesforce's own page and tap Allow. You do it once.

  3. 3

    Scan, then send

Scan a card, add a note on where you met, and tap Send to Salesforce. It's a Lead before you've put the card away.

Field mapping

From the card to the Salesforce record

You check the scan before saving, so what reaches Salesforce is what you approved.

Why teams use it

Built for the moment you meet someone

Your note goes with it

What you wrote about the conversation lands in the record's activity timeline and its description, with the date, so whoever follows up knows the context.

Lead capture without duplicates

If an open Lead or a Contact already has that email, uKeep adds your note to it instead of creating a second record.

One tap from the card

No exporting, no spreadsheets, no typing it in later. You choose which cards to send; nothing goes automatically.

Straight to the record

After sending, Open in Salesforce takes you to the Lead, ready to assign, convert or add to a campaign.

Sent as you

Leads are created under your own Salesforce user, so ownership, sharing rules and permissions work the way your org set them up.

Disconnect any time

One tap in uKeep revokes its access in Salesforce. The Leads you sent stay where they are.

What uKeep can see in Salesforce

The short answer for your Salesforce admin. The details are in setting up uKeep for Salesforce.

  • You log in on Salesforce's own page. Your password never reaches uKeep.
  • uKeep acts as you, so it can only do what your Salesforce user already can.
  • It reads Leads and Contacts only to find a matching email, creates the Lead or Contact (and its company's Account), and adds your note and an activity to it. Nothing else.
  • The access Salesforce grants is stored encrypted, and deleted when you disconnect.

Questions

Before you connect

How do I scan business cards into Salesforce?

Install uKeep in your Salesforce org (an admin does it once), connect your account in the uKeep app, then scan a card and tap Send to Salesforce. The card becomes a Lead with your note.

What does a scanned card become in Salesforce?

A Lead, with the name, company, title, email, phone numbers, website and address read from the card. Your newest note goes into the description and is logged as a completed activity, and the lead source is set to Other. You can change all of this in uKeep's Salesforce settings.

Can cards become Contacts instead of Leads?

Yes. In uKeep's Salesforce settings, choose Contact: the card becomes a Contact under the Account of its company, which uKeep creates if it doesn't exist yet. You can also pick the Lead Source from your org's own list, and send your note to Salesforce Notes instead of the activity timeline.

What happens if the person is already in Salesforce?

If an open Lead or a Contact has the same email, uKeep adds your note to that record's description instead of creating a duplicate.

Do I need a Salesforce admin?

Once. An admin installs uKeep for the org, which lets everyone in it connect. If you're not an admin, uKeep gives you the install link to send them.

Does every card go to Salesforce?

No. A card goes to Salesforce only when you tap Send to Salesforce on it. Everything else stays in uKeep.

Which Salesforce editions does it work with?

uKeep connects through the Salesforce API, so your org needs API access. Enterprise, Unlimited and Developer Edition include it.

Can we stop it later?

Yes. Each person can disconnect in uKeep, and an admin can remove uKeep for the whole org by uninstalling it. Leads already sent stay in Salesforce.
